The last piece of the 2025 GT World Challenge America puzzle has been filled as Archangel Motorsports and Bronze driver Todd Coleman announced they will run a McLaren 720S GT3 EVO in the Pro-Am class, with Aaron Telitz driving alongside Coleman in the #88 McLaren.
Coleman and Telitz began racing together in the 2022 Pirelli GT4 America series. They won the four-hour IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge endurance race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course driving for Michael Johnson’s team in 2024, and began dipping their toes into GT3 racing as a duo beginning at the Creventic 24 Hours of Barcelona and the Gulf 12 Hours. Only a post-race penalty for speeding in the pit lane denied them a win in the latter event.
Joined by co-driver Lorcan Hanifin, Coleman and Telitz took part in the UAE rounds of the 2024/25 Asian Le Mans Series at Dubai Autodrome and Yas Marina Circuit. They will now carry that experience into GT World Challenge America beginning next weekend at the opening rounds in Sonoma Raceway.
“We can’t wait to get back into GT3 racing, and the McLaren looks awesome,” said Archangel Team Owner Johnson. “Todd and Aaron had a great year last year and have had some success in the Middle East and Europe with the same platform, so we hope to turn all that success into some race wins in SRO America’s GT World Challenge this year.”
By entering the 720S GT3 EVO (or the McLaren GT3 EVO as it’s now referred to by the manufacturer) they will be the first team to run the car in GT World Challenge America since Inception Racing with Optimum Motorsport ran a partial schedule in 2021. McLaren last achieved top honours in the series back when it was known as Pirelli World Challenge, in 2016 – when Alvaro Parente and K-PAX Racing took home the GT Championship in the 650S GT3.
“2025 is proving to be an exciting year as we make our move to a full season of GT3 racing,” said Coleman. “I am honoured to have Aaron guiding me on this journey and to be surrounded by the incredible Archangel Motorsports team, all as we begin our new partnership with McLaren. We are looking forward to returning to the SRO paddock in what is going to be an incredibly competitive GT America World Challenge grid.”
“I’m so excited to go racing in GT World Challenge America with Archangel Motorsports,” said Telitz, who is combining this programme with his full-season IMSA GTD PRO effort with Vasser Sullivan Racing. “Todd dipped his toes in GT3 racing last year in a couple of races and was immediately competitive. It’s been really rewarding watching him progress up the ladder and now we take a big step into GT3 machinery full-time!”
The entry list for the GT World Challenge America opener at Sonoma is expected to be released by the end of the week.
