Familiar Faces Return To Origine’s Three-Car GT World Asia Effort

Porsche contracted drivers Bastian Buus, Alessio Picariello feature alongside Yuan, Ye, and Wu

Two-time and defending GT World Challenge Asia Teams’ Champions Origine Motorsport have finalised their three-car programme for the 2025 season, with several familiar faces returning to the line-up.

2024 Drivers’ Champions, Bob Yuan Bo and Leo Ye Hongli, will return to drive the green and white #87 Porsche 911 GT3 R.

With two overall wins and four podiums, plus eight class wins in the Silver-Am category, Yuan and Ye not only cruised to the Silver-Am Cup, but took the Overall Drivers’ title against teams with luxurious European factory drivers.

Lu Wei will also be back behind the wheel of his black and purple #4 Porsche, to be joined by Porsche contracted drivers Bastian Buus – who appeared in last year’s Okayama round – and Alessio Picariello, who transfers in from Absolute Racing after winning the Pro-Am Cup and finishing second in the Overall standings.

Lu finished third in the 2024 Overall Championship and second in the Pro-Am Cup, sharing his #4 car with Buus, Patrick Pilet, and Laurin Heinrich throughout the season. There will be a similar arrangement this year with Buus and Picariello running part-time alongside Lu (specific driver combinations for all venues will be determined later).

Origine already announced its expansion over the offseason, adding a third Porsche, the Silver-Am #86 for Li Kerong and Anders Fjordbach. Li and Fjordbach are also entered in the 49th annual Suzuka 1000km in September.
