The entry list for NLS2 this weekend has been released and features 140 cars in the field, as the majority of the teams and drivers continue to prepare for the Nürburgring 24 Hours in June.
SP9 is healthy, with 17 cars across PRO, PRO-AM and AM, representing seven marques. Teams racing with Ford, Porsche, Lamborghini, Audi, Aston Martin, Ferrari and BMW are listed, the race for the win set to be hotly contested.
Within that, Falken Motorsports will run a pair of 911 GT3 Rs, the #3 for Dorian Boccolacci and Alessio Picariello and the #4 of Tim Heinemann and Dennis Marshall.
Scherer Sport PHX will also debut its new Porsche for Patric Niederhauser and Patrick Pilet, as the team begins a transition away from Audi. The team’s Porsche will be joined by an R8 for the 24 Hours.
Walkenhorst Motorsport’s effort is also strong, with three cars, one in each class, headlined by the PRO Aston Martin Vantage for factory drivers Christian Krognes and Mattia Drudi.
HRT Ford Performance will also look to turn heads with its pair of Mustang GT3s. The #2 will be shared by Dennis Olsen, Frank Stippler, Jusuf Owega and Hubert Haupt, while the #6 will be steered by Dennis Fetzer, David Schumacher, Salman Owega and Patrick Assenheimer.
The single BMW M4 GT3 on the list is likely to be in firm contention for victory too. Augusto Farfus, Jesse Krohn, Raffaele Marciello and Kelvin van der Linde will share driving duties there.
Elsewhere there are some other interesting entries to keep and eye on.
Inter Europol’s Jakub Smiechowski will share a BMW M240i Racing Cup alongside Tom Dillmann as part of a plan to gain a ‘Ring permit.
It’s the same story for Iron Dame Michelle Gatting and Porsche youngsters Robert de Haan and Alessandro Ghiretti, who are racing a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 as part of the build up to an expected attack on the N24 in 2026.
Canadian Robert Wickens, alongside his 2025 IMSA GTD programme with Corvette, is also pushing to get a licence aboard the #831 Hyundai Motorsport Elantra N TCR.
And finally, there’s an interesting entry from Manthey in AT 2. Team eFuel Griesmann is entering a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 running on synthetic fuel and equipped with components made from recycled carbon fibre. It’s a new project with eyes on an N24 start.
The four-hour race is set to get underway at 12:00 local time on Saturday. A live stream with English commentary will be available on DSC.
