Paradine Competition has announced that BMW M factory driver Augusto Farfus will join the team for this weekend’s GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup event at Circuit Zandvoort.
The Brazilian replaces fellow works driver Dan Harper alongside Darren Leung in the #991 BMW M4 GT3 Evo, which competes in the Bronze Cup.
Harper and Leung won the Bronze Cup last season, and with the class skipping the opening round at Brands Hatch, this was to be the start of their title defence.
With Harper also set to miss the Valencia season finale due to a clash with the IMSA Sportscar Championship, it now appears likely that Leung will have to defend the drivers’ title solo.
This weekend is set to be Farfus’ Sprint Cup debut. It will also be his first start at Circuit Zandvoort since the Dutch venue was reconfigured ahead of the 2020 season.
Paradine Competition started 2025 in strong form, headlined by victory in the Silver Cup at the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup opener at Circuit Paul Ricard.
Leung, Harper and Sean Gelael finished second in Bronze at Circuit Paul Ricard, leaving the British squad well placed to compete for the invitation to the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans awarded to the best team in Bronze across both the Endurance and Sprints Cups.
Farfus drove for Paradine earlier this week during the two-day 24 Hours of Spa Prologue Test. Notably, as well as the team’s regular drivers, he was joined at the test by Super GT GT300 racer Roberto Merhi and 4x British Touring Car Champion Ashley Sutton.
