Shanghai Returns To 2026 GT World Challenge Asia Calendar

Chang International Circuit dropped from revised six-round schedule

The 2026 GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS calendar was revealed today during the SRO Press Conference in Spa-Francorchamps – and Shanghai International Circuit will return to the calendar, as China hosts two rounds of the Pan-Asian championship.

Shanghai’s return on 5/6 June 2026 comes at the expense of Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand, which has been dropped for next year. Shanghai was dropped from the 2025 calendar in favour of a new street race in Beijing, with its inaugural running set to take place on 17-19 October as the 2025 season finale.

Petronas Sepang International Circuit will once again host the opening rounds of the championship on 4/5 April, followed by Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia on 2/3 May. Shanghai will be the third round of the season, followed by two ‘GT PowerTour’ rounds in Japan.

GT World Asia’s return to Fuji will take place in July, followed by a second Japanese event in August, at a venue to be named later. The Beijing street race is set to be the 2026 season finale in October.

Additional details will be announced later.
