Monochrome GT4 Australia resumes the 2025 season this weekend at the GT Festival Sandown as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries with strong fields across all three classes in the 28-car entry list for a pair of 60 minute races.
Silver
The Silver class will see eight entries.
Unlike any of the other classes, Silver’s top six are all represented by different manufacturers and excitingly, all six crews are entered in the round.
Chasing the leading Method Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4 of Tom Hayman and Max Geoghegan will be the Miedecke Motorsport with Lubrimaxx Ford Mustang GT4 of George Miedecke and Rylan Gray, who sit just six points off the leaders.
The rest of the top six is made up of the Ash Seward Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 G82 duo Cody Burcher and Tim Leahey, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS of TekworkX’s Nash Morris and Zoe Woods, Triple Eight Race Engineering’s Summer Rintoule and Jarrod Hughes in the Mercedes-AMG GT4, and the Audi R8 GT4 of Blake Purdie and Daniel Price.
Rounding out the class is the second Method Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4, piloted by Nathan Morcom and Lachlan Hennock, and the solo entry of Gomersall Motorsport’s Jake Camilleri, who will have his first run in the Ford Mustang GT4 after switching from the Mercedes-AMG.
Silver-Am
Silver-Am has 10 cars entered for the round.
The two most notable changes to a field extremely similar to the round at Queensland Raceway is the inclusion of series debutant Jay Murray and the return of the race-winning Matthew McCutcheon.
In what is his first-ever meeting in a race car, Murray will be joining father Nathan in the McElrea Racing BMW M4 GT4 G82 EVO after successfully passing a number of test days, while McCutcheon will reunite with Tony Quinn for the event aboard the Keltic Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO 2.
Both crews make up one half of their respective marques at Sandown, with the second Toyota GR Supra driven by Silver-Am title contenders Daniel Frougas and Tim Berryman of GWR, while Thunder Buddies Racing’s Ryder Quinn and Steve Jakic are behind the wheel of the BMW M4 GT4 G82.
Four Ford Mustang GT4s will feature in the class at Sandown, including Aaron Seton and Jason Gomersall of Gomersall Motorsport and DA Campbell Transport’s Cameron Crick and Dean Campbell – the two crews are separated by just six points at the top of the class standings.
Following the spectacular crash at Queensland Raceway, Multispares Racing have done an incredible job to get its Ford Mustang ready to go for Sandown, with Aaron Cameron and Ryan Hansford teaming up again, while Wallis Motorsport’s Jack and Adam Wallis will steer the fourth and final Mustang in the class.
Rounding out the class are Zac Soutar and Glenn Nirwarn in the Tufflift Racing TSM McLaren Artura GT4 and Buckby Motorsport’s Lachlan Dalton and Ben Newman, in the Mercedes-AMG GT4.
Am Class
The Am class once again welcomes 10 cars for a round, with the entry list headlined by the returning John Nikolovski, who has made a full recovery from a crash earlier in the year.
Nikolovski’s return takes AR Nineteen Motorsport’s representation back to three with Mark Griffith and Jamie Arratoon piloting the team’s other Mercedes-AMG GT4s – the latter of which will be hoping to add to his maiden podium from Queensland.
In addition to AR Nineteen Motorsport’s three Mercedes-AMGs, the iconic German marque will also be represented by Love Racing TSM’s Robert and Bailey Love.
Despite the largest representation being from Mercedes-AMG, the top five for the class is occupied by BMW and Porsche, with Jacob and Peter Lawrence having each guided their BMW M4 GT4 G82s to first and fifth on the standings after three rounds.
Splitting the two Randall Racing entries on the standings are the dual Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS entries of Shane Smollen and fellow Method Motorsport teammates Chris Lillis and Nathan Callaghan, and the BMW M4 GT4 F82 of Gomersall Motorsport’s Glenn Walker.
Smollen, who has dominated the class since joining at Sydney Motorsport Park, will be hoping to overthrow Jacob from the top of the summit with 24 points separating the two drivers.
Making up the entry list is the class’ sole Ford Mustang GT4, which is driven by 99motorsport/Hansa Equipment’s Marcus LaDelle and Jarrod Keyte.
Monochrome GT4 Australia will have one practice session and pre-qualifying on Friday, Qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday, and Race 2 on Sunday.
