The European Le Mans Series entry list for Round 4 of the season at Spa-Francorchamps later this month has been released, featuring 44 cars across the four categories.
In the headline LMP2 class, there are two tweaks since the race at Imola. Benjamin Pedersen is set to compete in the #30 Duqueine Team ORECA alongside Roy Nissany and Reshad de Gerus. The Dane joins the team in the seat previously filled by Francesco Simonazzi.
Also of note is that Tom Dillmann is listed at Inter Europol and has confirmed on social media the welcome news that he has been cleared to race. The Frenchman has been recovering from successful surgery for a fractured vertebra sustained while racing with the Polish team in IMSA last month.
Meanwhile, CLX Motorsport’s #47 ORECA is down to two drivers at present, following Genesis factory driver Pipo Derani’s decision to step back from the ELMS to focus on the development of the Korean brand’s GMR-001 LMDh prototype. The list features a TBA next to Manuel Espirito Santo and Enzo Fittipaldi.
Nielsen Racing’s Paul Ricard-winning #27 ORECA in LMP2 Pro/Am will sport a different line-up, too, as only James Allen is listed at present. DSC understands that there may be a revised line-up announced in the next 48 hours, after a series of personal matters mean that no fewer than three of the team’s drivers across the ELMS and Ligier European Series are unable to race at Spa.
That announcement has now been made – John Falb rejoins the team for Spa after spearheading last year’s #24 ELMS LMP2 Pro-Am effort, scoring two podium finishes in Barcelona and Portimão.
Falb reunites with James Allen after their successful 2022 ELMS campaign, which saw the pair secure three podiums together. Sérgio Sette Câmara completes the lineup for the #27 Oreca, which claimed victory in the 4 Hours of Le Castellet at Paul Ricard last May.
There’s one driver change to mention in LMP3. Team Virage’s #8 Ligier JS P325 sees Julien Gerbi take the wheel in the space occupied by Jacek Zielonka.
And in LMGT3, there are two driver switches. Ferrari factory driver James Calado will make his second start of the season at Kessel Racing in its #57 Ferrari 296 LMGT3 in place of Daniel Serra. And at Proton, reigning Asian Le Mans Series GT3 champion Antares Au is in for team boss Christian Ried.
