British Corvette Racing partner team Steller Motorsport will make a one-off appearance in the 2025 International GT Open’s final sprint race meeting of the season later this month, entering one of its Z06 GT3.Rs for Canadian siblings Daniel and Adam Ali at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on September 20–21.
The British outfit has spent this season focused on GT World Challenge Europe with 19-year-old Daniel Ali, who now welcomes his older brother Adam as co-driver. The 21-year-old brings proven credentials, having scored victories in the European Le Mans Series and finishing runner-up in the LMP3 standings in back-to-back campaigns before switching to GT racing this year.
For Daniel, the Barcelona outing not only marks his first start in GT Open but also the first time he will race alongside Adam since their karting days.
“I am very excited to compete in the International GT Open,” Daniel (above) said. “I’ve driven at Barcelona many times, though never in a GT car. It’s going to be special to finally team up with my brother and also very useful for us as a team ahead of the GT World Challenge Europe finale at the same track.”
Adam (below) echoed the sentiment: “The Corvette has been a strong platform worldwide since its debut season and I’m excited to drive it. Hopefully, we can enjoy some success at Barcelona, and of course, racing alongside my brother will be special for both of us.”
Steller Motorsport believes the wildcard run offers more than just an opportunity for the Ali brothers. The team logged significant preseason mileage at Barcelona and sees the GT Open appearance as a chance to benchmark the car under race conditions before GTWC returns in October.
“It’s going to be exciting to have the brothers racing together in the Corvette, and a good experience for us as a team to compete in International GT Open,” said team manager Max Daymond.
“We spent a lot of time in Barcelona during preseason, so this should give us a strong starting point going into the race weekend. The switch to Michelin tyres will be something new, but we have GT3 experience with them before. Having prior circuit knowledge really helped us at Paul Ricard, where we scored a podium, so we’re optimistic for Barcelona and for the GTWC finale that follows.”
