This year’s Professional Motorsport World (PMW) Expo is set to deliver another showcase of innovation, with more than 200 exhibitors from across the globe bringing the latest in high-performance technology for motorsport, road cars and niche vehicle sectors.
The annual expo at the Koelnmesse in Germany, which attracts racing teams, OEMs, constructors and distributors from more than 45 countries, remains the must-attend event for anyone serious about performance engineering.
This year, visitors can expect to see the newest developments across engine technology, aerodynamics, simulation and testing, tyre performance, additive manufacturing, driver safety and much more.
Marelli Europe Spa Motorsport will use the show to launch its Racing Electric Axle (REA) – a compact but powerful unit designed for top-level racing. Featuring an oil-cooled motor generator, advanced control electronics, single-ratio gearbox, active differential and an efficient cooling system, the REA promises class-leading power density and reliability, raising the benchmark for motorsport electrification.
Helix will also highlight its expertise in electric drivetrains with integrated EDUs – complete plug-and-play systems combining motors, power electronics and transmissions. Already proven in Formula 1, Formula E and headline projects such as the Volkswagen ID.R, Helix’s units deliver 23 kW/kg with zero thermal fade, while simplifying assembly, cutting costs and boosting overall efficiency.
Cooling specialist GMC Racing will debut its Oversized Water Cooler for the Subaru Impreza WRX/STI (2008–2014). Built from lightweight aluminium and designed for straightforward installation with no modifications, the system has been track-tested for maximum reliability and performance, giving drivers a simple but highly effective upgrade option.
Meanwhile, Van Der Lee Turbo Systems will present its range of lightweight, high-performance turbochargers, developed for motorsport and extreme performance use. Deployed on programmes such as the Porsche 963 and Alpine LMDh, these turbos offer outputs of up to 1,050 bhp while cutting weight by 25–35% and costs by 25–40%, all while fitting a wide range of engines and applications.
