The newest evolution of the Porsche 911 GT3 R is at Daytona International Speedway for the IMSA Sanctioned Test.
Three of them, in fact, as Manthey, Wright Motorsports, and RS1 (new to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship) have unloaded the latest 992.2 generation 911 GT3 R.
The revised GT3 R features an array of aerodynamic updates that were first revealed when Porsche officially unveiled the car in August.
Among them are the louvres incorporated into the front wheel arches to improve cooling, and a four millimetre Gurney flap on the swan-neck wing to increase downforce and add setup depth.
The car also has revised front and rear suspension kinematics to enhance stability and predictability, particularly under braking.
The car has already tested extensively at Weissach, the Nürburgring, Spa-Francorchamps, Paul Ricard, and Sebring, and a prototype version of the 992.2 GT3 R even took overall victory at the 24H Series 12 Hours of Spa.
