Peugeot’s Hypercar Technical Director, Olivier Jansonnie has been appointed as the new Head of Stellantis Motorsport, following the impending retirement of Jean-Marc Finot.
Finot will retire at the end of January 2026, with the Frenchman and Jansonnie sharing duties until then during a transitional period.
Jansonnie currently acts as Team Principal and Technical Director for Peugeot TotalEnergies’ FIA WEC programme in his role of Vice-President of Endurance Racing at Stellantis, a position he has held since 2020. The Frenchman has previously worked for Mitsubishi and BMW, as well as spending an earlier spell at Peugeot as Head of Chassis R&D for its 908 LMP1 project, including during its 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans victory.
Alongside the Peugeot 9X8 Hypercar, other current Stellantis Motorsport projects include its pair of FIA Formula E teams and the impending return of Lancia to the FIA World Rally Championship in the WRC2 category.
“Motorsport has always been a cornerstone of the automotive industry, shaping the legacy of Stellantis brands through iconic victories,” Jansonnie commented.
“As we enter a new era of global championships, my mission is clear: to cultivate talent and expertise that will keep our brands at the forefront of innovation and performance. I extend my gratitude to Jean-Marc Finot for his support and, Head of European Brands, [Stellantis], and Emanuele Cappellano for his trust. Backed by our passionate, competitive, and talented teams, I am ready to take on this challenge with determination and make our colours shine brighter than ever.”
