After ten years together, Land-Motorsport has announced that it has parted ways with Audi Sport.
The German team first represented the marque back in 2016, winning the ADAC GT Masters drivers’, teams’ and juniors’ titles in its first year with the R8 LMS GT3.
The partnership’s highlight came a year later, as Connor De Phillippi, Christopher Mies, Kelvin van der Linde and Markus Winkelhock triumphed in a thrilling 24H Nürburgring. Land-Motorsport’s #29 Audi led until electrical gremlins struck in the penultimate hour, but the correct call on tyres as heavy rain arrived near the end saw them fight back from third and salvage victory.

Further major endurance wins followed later in 2017 at Petit Le Mans in GTD, and in 2018 at the California 8 Hours Intercontinental GT Challenge event, before another set of ADAC GT Masters titles was achieved in 2021.

In 2025, Land-Motorsport made its debut in the DTM, fielding a last-minute entry for Ricardo Feller. Following a slow start, things came together in the second half of the year for one of only two single-car efforts in the field, with a win at the Red Bull Ring and two further podium finishes.
Wolfgang Land’s outfit is yet to confirm its 2026 plans, but today’s news means it joins the growing list of teams to have abandoned the R8 LMS GT3 platform following Audi Sport’s decision to end its customer racing operation.
“For ten whole years at Land-Motorsport, everything revolved around the four rings – and with some significant success, too,” a statement released by the team earlier today said.
“Together with the Inglostadt-based manufacturer and its Audi R8 LMS GT3, the team managed to achieve stand-out results both in Germany and on the international stage. Every race, every win and everyone who was involved helped to write this story of success.
“All good things come to an end, and this partnership is no exception. Land-Motorsport would like to express its thanks to Audi for an extraordinary and successful journey together.”
