A Porsche Cup class will be added to the China GT Championship from 2026, for 992.1-spec Porsche 911 GT3 Cup machinery.
Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific will offer support to entries, with items such as spare parts, technical assistance and increased access to other one-make Porsche series in the region.
This includes the Porsche Sports Cup China, with the 992 Cup championship leader after the penultimate round of the season receiving an entry into Sports Cup China’s round at the Shanghai International Circuit.
992 Cup will act as its own class within China GT, with its own podium and classification, but all participants will also be eligible for the existing GTC category.
The class will initially be for 992.1-spec machinery, although the new 992.2-spec one-maker racer, which is debuting in Porsche Supercup and select regional championships in 2026, will become eligible at a later date.

“As one of the leading Pro-Am GT series in the country, China GT is an important and strategic championship for Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific, making it a great development for us to partner with the championship. The series has an exciting calendar set for 2026, with four domestic events plus an international race at Sepang.
“Porsche is set to be well-represented in the series, with entries planned in GT3, GTC, GT4 and now the 992 Cup category. Customer experience is a key part of what Porsche offers, so we are delighted to provide technical and parts support on-site at each event.”
The 2026 China GT Championship will take place across five rounds, with the season beginning at the Shanghai International Circuit on 17th to 19th April 2026.
