Aston Martin works driver Ross Gunn will return to Beechdean AMR in 2026 and team up with Andrew Howard for the team’s forthcoming British GT campaign.
Beechdean AMR’s Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 will also run a livery reminiscent of its colour scheme from a decade ago; a design that followed on from a dominant British GT title-winning season and ended with an ELMS GTE championship.
Howard won the GT3 Silver-Am class title last year with Tom Wood and now returns to the Pro-Am field with Gunn, having both previously competed together in the 2023 season.
Gunn and Howard first raced together 10 years ago in an Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3, following Gunn’s GT4 title-winning effort in 2015 with Jamie Chadwick — the same year Howard earned his maiden GT3 Pro-Am title with another AMR factory driver, Jonny Adam.
Gunn (below) has been involved with Aston Martin’s Valkyrie Hypercar programme in both IMSA and the FIA WEC over the past year. He reunited with Howard at the 2025 24 Hours of Spa, where Beechdean scored a Bronze Cup class podium finish.
“I’m so excited to be back in the British GT Championship for 2026 and to have the opportunity, as part of the Aston Martin Racing family, to race again with Beechdean AMR and with Andrew,” said Gunn.
“From watching my dad race Beechdean Minis when I was little, to the support Andrew’s given me through my career, there’s always been a strong link between myself and the team, and it’s brilliant to be back.
“Andrew’s coming into the season as the reigning Silver-Am champion and finished 2025 on such strong form, so my target is to pick up where we left off and be fighting to finish at the sharp end.”
Howard added: “It was brilliant to get back to championship-winning ways in 2025 and to finish on the podium at the 24 Hours of Spa.
“For 2026, we’re aiming even higher as we return to the Pro-Am class with a livery that might remind a few people of some fantastic past times, and target the overall podium from the get-go.
“Having Ross back is brilliant. He’s been a regular in the garage since he was a child, and it’s been awesome to watch his career go from strength to strength since he first raced with Beechdean AMR in 2015.
“I’m looking forward to the coming season more than I have done for a long time.”
The 34th season of British GT commences with the media day at Silverstone on 31 March before the season-opening Silverstone 500 on 25-26 April.
