Barwell Motorsport has announced that it will not compete in GT World Challenge Europe this year, bringing to an end a 15-year run of contemporary international racing for the team.
The British outfit fielded two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2s in the Sprint Cup last season, and one car in the Endurance Cup, but will take a step back in 2026 as the Italian brand launches its new Temerario GT3.
Instead, the seven-time British GT teams’ champion will focus its efforts on the domestic series, with an expanded entry of three Huracán GT3 Evo2s as it seeks to reclaim the title.
Barwell Motorsport will also remain active in mainland Europe, courtesy of its recently established GT3 Heritage division. The team is set to compete in both MRL GT3 Legends and the SRO-backed Peter Auto GT3 Revival Series, with a three-car entry for July’s Le Mans Classic confirmed.
The Mark Lemmer and Chris Needell-led organisation is also evaluating competing with its Huracán GT3 Evo2s in a Middle Eastern programme next winter.
No drivers have been announced so far for Barwell Motorsport’s 2026 programmes.
2026 is set to be Barwell’s final full season racing the Huracán GT3 Evo2, ahead of a likely switch to the Temerario GT3 for 2027. The Temerario is undergoing a limited rollout this year, with Pfaff Motorsports and Rutronik Racing the only customers currently named.
