Winward Confirms N24 Programme

Mercedes-AMG performance team Winward Racing will return to the 24H Nürburgring this year, under the ‘Mercedes-AMG Team RAVENOL’ banner.

As part of a multi-year cooperation, Winward will field the Ravenol-backed #80 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO in six Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie rounds in 2026, as well as at May’s ADAC 24H race.

The German-American team, which finished second overall as part of a Mercedes-AMG 1-2-3-4 in 2016, last competed at the event in 2019.

Since then, Winward has gone on to win the GTD class at the 24 Hours of Daytona three times, and won titles in IMSA, GT World Challenge Europe and 24H Series competition. The team has also competed in the DTM, where it has finished in the top three in the teams’ championship in four of the past five seasons.

The #80 was selected to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Ravenol, which as well as sponsoring the team, is also the title partner of both the NLS and Nürburgring 24H, whilst the livery is based on the scheme ran by Maro Engel in last year’s DTM.

No drivers have been announced for the effort so far.

“Working with RAVENOL to run a Mercedes-AMG GT3 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife is exemplary of what we stand for at Mercedes-AMG Motorsport: long-term partnerships, the highest level of technical expertise and uncompromising performance,” said Christoph Sagemüller, Head of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport.

“We have a long-standing and trusting partnership with RAVENOL, which is now also visible on the biggest stage of endurance racing at the Nürburgring together with our Performance Team Winward Racing.”
