Longtime Porsche customer ZRS Motorsport will make its International GT Open debut this year, with an entry into the Pro class for Pietro Armanni and Alex Fontana.
The Italian squad, which is a former champion in Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, will field a brand-new 911 GT3 R (992.2) in the series.
20-year-old Armanni raced for ZRS Motorsport in the GT Open-supporting GT Cup Europe last season, winning two races and finishing as runner-up in the drivers’ championship alongside Ludovico Longoni.
Three-time GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup class champion Fontana, meanwhile, is entering his third consecutive GT Open season in Porsche machinery. The Swiss-Greek racer competed with Car Collection Motorsport in 2024, and the opening five rounds of 2025, before switching to Tsunami RT for the season closing Monza 500KM, where he won the Pro/Am class with Bashar Mardini.
ZRS Motorsport has also confirmed it will return to GT Cup Europe in 2026.
Team owner and principal Niccolò Zambon commented: “We are delighted to debut in the GT Open. This has been in our plans for a while and it’s a nice step up in the growth of our team. It will be a challenge but we have put together a competitive package and feel ready and determined to do well.”
