Wright Motorsports has announced it will enter three Porsche 911 GT3 Rs in the upcoming season of SRO America racing, including two cars in GT World Challenge America powered by AWS. This marks Wright’s return to GT World America as a full-season entry for the first time since 2024, when driver and now team owner Adam Adelson won the series’ Pro class championship.
It will feature reigning Porsche Carrera Cup North America champion Ryan Yardley, who, after making his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut in the Rolex 24 At Daytona, will run the full season in the #31 Porsche.
Yardley, a Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) Selected Driver, will share this Pro-Am entry with Dave Musial Jnr, who also raced in this year’s Rolex 24. Musial also ran a partial season in the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, and won alongside Yardley in the Porsche Endurance Challenge North America round at Road Atlanta.
“I’m extremely excited to be driving with Ryan Yardley as my co-driver and to be joining Wright Motorsports for GT World Challenge America powered by AWS,” said Musial. “We wanted to position ourselves with the very best, and we truly believe Wright is second to none. Their experience with the Porsche 911 GT3 R is unmatched, and what really stood out is that Adam Adelson isn’t just the team owner—he’s a hardcore racer like we are. He understands what it takes to win and how much of a team effort it is. After a lot of conversations with Adam and Bob (Viglione, Chief Operating Officer), it was clear we share the same passion, the same drive, and the same goal: To be number one. We’re fired up for 2026 and can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together.”
“I’m super excited to be joining Wright Motorsports for the 2026 GT World Challenge America championship,” added Yardley. “It’s awesome to be continuing my relationship with Dave Musial Jr. and to be teaming up once again. I’m really looking forward to the step up from Carrera Cup into GT3 competition. Sonoma can’t come soon enough!”
Wright Motorsports’ second entry, the #242 Porsche, is also in the Pro-Am category. GT3 newcomer Therese Lahlouh, announced in December as part of Wright’s return to GT World America, will race alongside her coach Thomas Merrill.
Merrill is a previous class winner at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, and has also won the Asian Le Mans Series GT and SCCA Trans Am TA2 titles.
Merrill said, “This will be a fun year with Therese and Wright Motorsports. Therese has worked really hard and come a long way in the past couple seasons to prepare for this next step in her career path. It’ll be a lot of fun to watch her continued growth in GT3 machinery. Adam, Bobby, and everyone at Wright are the cream of the crop and have been awesome to work with so far. Their knowledge of the Porsche GT3 R Evo from their IMSA programme will help us get up to speed quickly. Can’t wait for Sonoma!”
Dave Musial Snr, meanwhile, is set to enter the full season in GT America powered by AWS, driving the #72 Porsche. The 2020 Ferrari Challenge North America Trofeo Pirelli Am champion will make his debut in the multi-class, single-driver sprint series for Bronze drivers – like his son Dave Jnr, he raced at this year’s Rolex 24 and in the 2025 VP SportsCar Challenge series.
