Ziggo Sport Tempesta’s Switch To Porsche

Ziggo Sport Tempesta has switched manufacturer for its 2026 GT World Challenge Europe programme, as it attempts to reclaim its Bronze Cup title and return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The British outfit will run a new Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) Evo this season, with technical support from Herberth Motorsport.

Its #93 Porsche will be driven by Eddie Cheever III for the full-season, with Chris Froggatt joining him for the Endurance Cup. Jonathan Hui will race at the 24 Hours of Spa and preceding Monza Endurance Cup event, with the team’s Bronze-rated driver for the Sprint Cup and remaining Endurance rounds to-be-announced.

Cheever, Hui and Froggatt have formed the core of Tempesta Racing’s driving strength since the team first entered GT World Challenge in 2019, including for its consecutive Endurance Cup Bronze titles in 2023 and 2024, and its maiden appearance at Le Mans last year. For 2026, the target for Ziggo Sport Tempesta is clear: to be the best entry in the Bronze Cup across the full-season, and receive an automatic invitation to the 2027 24 hours of Le Mans.

Porsche is set to be the fourth manufacturer the team has competed with in GT World Challenge in the past five years, following spells with Mercedes-AMG (2022), McLaren (2023) and Ferrari (2024/25). Froggatt, Hui and Tempesta previously teamed up with Herberth Motorsport at last year’s 12 Hours of Spa, where they claimed overall victory.

“I am excited for the new challenge ahead and to be partnering with Herberth Motorsport after a successful Spa 12 Hours last year,” Froggatt said.

“The new Porsche GT3 R Evo looks to be a competitive package, and I am excited to get behind the wheel and see how the car is to drive. I am confident that this year should be a strong year for the team; we have got our conventional line-up in myself, Eddie, and Jonathan for Monza and Spa; and we will be joined by other competitive bronze drivers for the remainder of the endurance races.

“Eddie will be taking on the Sprint Championship with the goal of getting back to Le Mans and having a second try at the most famous endurance race in the world. This is really the goal for the year, and we believe we have the package and the support to get us there. I am very excited for the season ahead.”

The 2026 GT World Challenge Europe season begins at Circuit Paul Ricard on 10th to 11th April 2026, with a six-hour Endurance Cup event.
