Proton Competition Focus On Core Brand For All Programmes

Proton Competition have confirmed that the growing team will henceforth compete in all their active Series and races under their core (Proton Competition) brand.

The decision sees the end of the Huber Racing and Proton-Huber brands a year after the departure of Christoph Huber from the combined organisation.

All racing in the FIA WEC, ELMS, Asian LMS and other sportscar and GT Series plus the effort’s campaigns in one-make Porsche competition will now feature the Proton Competition brand exclusively:

Team principal Christian Ried:

“We have celebrated many successes in recent years – now is the time to join forces to ensure our continued success in the future. With this in mind, all our future activities will be carried out exclusively under the name “Proton Competition.

Our hard work, dedication and hunger for success remain the same – we are simply combining the strengths of the Proton crews at our sites in Ummendorf and Hofkirchen.

This enables us to create a platform that is unique in global motorsport: from the Porsche single-make Cups right up to the premier class of endurance racing at World Championship level, we offer our drivers within our team unrivalled opportunities for progression.

“No other team offers drivers the chance to progress within a single team from the Porsche one-make series through GT3 racing to the LMP and Hypercar classes. The development of Proton Competition in recent years and the addition of the team in Hofkirchen have been essential in this regard.”
