Team Soutar Motorsport
Team Soutar Motorsport has announced plans to field four cars this season, a pair of McLaren Artura GT4s and Mercedes-AMG GT4s.
Zac Soutar and Glenn Nirwan will return to their Silver-Am McLaren for their sophomore campaign, as they look to build on a mixed 2025 which was headlined by a pair of podium finishes.
“Last year’s preparation felt a bit rushed as the car arrived just before the start of the season and we didn’t get much testing, so the majority of the year was spent finding our feet,” Soutar said.
“This year though, we now have a much better understanding of how to get the most out of the McLaren as we have a year of experience and have done some development on it. I think we should be very competitive this season. Glenn is improving all of the time and is becoming very quick in his own right, whilst hopefully I can do my part and we can be in the Silver-Am Cup title fight at the end of the season.”
The team’s #114 McLaren will be piloted in Silver by rookie Jack Johnson, who is stepping up from Formula Ford, whilst its #58 Mercedes-AMG, which will compete under the ‘Murphy Racing TSM’ banner, will be driven by father-and-son rookie duo Gerry and Jed Murphy in Silver-Am. Another father-and-son combination, Rob and Bailey Love, will return to its Am #17 Mercedes-AMG for their second season with the team.
McElrea Racing
Father-and-son pairing Nathan and Jay Murray will switch to separate BMW M4 GT4 EVOs for 2026, having raced together last season.
The Murrays are returning to McElrea Racing, and will both compete solo, with Nathan in Am, and Jay in Silver.
Last year, Nathan competed alone for the opening three rounds, before Jay joined him for the second half of the season, making his car racing debut in the process, and impressed enough to be invited to the BMW M Racing Academy selection process in Germany.
“I’m excited to be running my own car now and having a proper crack at getting some good results after gaining that crucial experience last year,” said Jay Murray.
“While I am completing my Year 12 studies this year, it’s going to be a very busy season, but I’ve been putting in a lot of work over the off-season and I’m confident I’m in a good position to build on the momentum from last year now that I have a few races under my belt.”
BF Racing
BF Racing will make its GT4 Australia debut this year, with a Toyota Supra GT4 Evo2.
Lachlan Evennett, who will also race a Toyota in the GT4 European Series, and rookie Andrew Torti will share the team’s #88 entry in Silver-Am.
Torti is making the step up to GT4 competition having won last year’s Australian Formula Ford 1600 Nationals class, whilst Evennett is returning to GT4 Australia after previously competing in 2024.
“GT4 wasn’t originally on my horizon, but when the opportunity to join Lachlan came up, I jumped on board straight away, so I am extremely excited to be here and racing,” Torti said.
“Like anything, the more time and effort you put in, the more results you’ll get back. I’ve been in the simulator every week since we agreed to do this, so while there’s plenty of pressure, I’m incredibly excited. Our expectations are to be competitive. Even though the field is strong, we believe we have the quality to get some serious results this season.”
Method Motorsport
Two-time teams’ champion Method Motorsport is set to run six cars this season, split across three different manufacturers.
Two-time and defending Silver drivers’ champion Tom Hayman is returning to the #25 McLaren Artura GT4, with a new co-driver, Jett Murray. 16-year-old Murray is graduating from the TGRA GR Cup, where he finished third in the drivers’ standings last season.
“Joining Monochrome GT4 Australia felt like the right step for me,” Murray said. “It’s a competitive category, all the cars are close, and it’s a good opportunity to move into a faster car while continuing to develop, and being part of Method Motorsport made it even more appealing. It would be pretty special to help Tommy make it three in a row, so that’s definitely the goal this year, and hopefully I can play a role in that. We’re still figuring out exactly what the long-term plan looks like in terms of my career, but right now the focus is on learning as much as I can and making the most of this opportunity.”
Hayman’s 2025 co-champion, Max Geoghegan, has switched to Porsche Carrera Cup Australia for 2026.
Some of the #25 McLaren’s stiffest competition is likely to be internal, as Summer Rintoule and Jarrod Hughes, who finished third in Silver as rookies last season with JGI Triple Eight Racing, have joined Method to pilot its #87 Artura GT4.
“I think it’s going to be a really cool step for this year. It was always really sad not to be with Triple Eight again, as they were awesome to be a part of last year and the team was really great, but obviously they have a bit going on this year,” Rintoule commented. “With that said, I am really grateful to be a part of the Method Motorsport team, and I think moving to Method Motorsport in a race-winning car will give us every chance to take the Silver Cup title.”
In Silver-Am, Cameron Crick and Dean Campbell have joined the Method Motorsport stable with their #118 Ford Mustang GT4, after finishing as runner-up in the championship last year as a privateer.
“The decision to join Method Motorsport came about because we realised that we reached a point where we needed the next step in knowledge and performance in order to improve our chances for silverware,” Campbell said.
“Chaz [Mostert, Team co-founder] and his group are the right fit to help us grow, as bringing in an experienced engineer and driver coaching support will push us to a higher standard. We’re keeping our core crew and what we’ve built, but aligning with Method strengthens our overall program. We’ve done a solid job running a Pro-Am style setup ourselves, and I’m proud of that, but this move simply adds more experience and structure around us.”
And in Am, 2025 runners-up Chris Lillis and Nathan Callaghan will return to the #64 Porsche for their sophomore campaign, as they look to build on the two wins they scored last season. They’ll be joined in the class by a pair of rookies running as solo drivers. Ryan Sorensen will pilot the #11 McLaren, with 1994 Commonwealth Games rowing Gold Medalist Cy Pearson driving the #6 Porsche.
DNA AutoSport
After a dream GT4 Australia debut at last year’s Hampton Downs finale, Tayler Bryant and Jeremy Gray will take on a full campaign in 2026, with DNA AutoSport.
The pair, which won Race 1 in Silver-Am at the New Zealand venue, will pilot the #67 Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO 2 this season.
Gray has previously won a title in GT4 machinery, after triumphing in the Australian GT Trophy Series aboard an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 back in 2018. Bryant, meanwhile, has spent the majority of his career in the New Zealand Toyota 86 Championship.
“Last year in New Zealand was a bit of fun – we only just got the car out of the container and went racing, and to have some success straight away was really encouraging,” Gray commented. “We’ve done some testing at the start of the year, which has helped make the car a bit easier to drive and a bit quicker. It’s been great to get it back out and give it a proper run this season.”
Thunder Buddies Racing
BMW M Racing Academy member Ryder Quinn will return to GT4 Australia this season with Steve Jakic, for their third season together in Silver-Am.
The pair will share the #3 BMW M4 GT4, as they look to build on their three class victories to date, which included a stunning overall triumph at The Bend last year from 24th on the grid. 2026 is set to be their first full season in the series, after they debuted midway through 2024, and had to miss two rounds last year, which prevented them from mounting a title challenge.
In a key change for this season, Thunder Buddies Racing will operate independently, having received support from TekworkX Motorsport for the past two years.
“This year will be Steve and my third season together, and after missing a few rounds in previous years, which hurt our points, we’re committing to a full campaign in 2026 and going all-in for the Silver-Am Cup title. That’s the goal,” Quinn said.
“Both of us have developed a lot over the past few seasons. Steve has come a long way since our first year together in 2023 and is in a really strong place now. With the support of the BMW M Racing Academy as well, I’m confident we’re well prepared and I’m looking forward to continuing to learn from the team in Munich.”
Randall Racing
Two-time Am drivers’ champion Jacob Lawrence is stepping up to Silver-Am for 2026, alongside 2024 Pro-Am champion Lachlan Mineoff.
Lawrence, who competed alongside John Bowe in 2024 before running solo last year, has won 12 races in Am across the past two seasons, as he comfortably sealed the title on both occasions.
Randall Racing’s BMW is set to be the third car that Mineoff has raced in as many years in GT4 Australia, following spells in a Method Motorsport Porsche and with Ginetta Australia.
Despite the line-up’s title pedigree, a championship challenge isn’t yet certain for the #32 M4 GT4, which has only been confirmed for four of six events so far.
“After two really strong years in Am, I wanted to challenge myself again,” Lawrence said.
“Stepping up to Silver-Am in 2026 is about pushing myself and seeing how far I can go. Hopefully, with a fast Silver alongside me, we can get the car further up the grid and consistently towards the front. We’ve seen what Silver-Am entries can achieve – they can absolutely fight for outright wins. I’ll keep my head down, keep working on improving myself, and hopefully we can put ourselves in that position as the season unfolds.”
Lawrence’s father, Peter Lawrence, will remain in the Am class for his third season in the series. Peter Lawrence will compete solo aboard the #33 BMW M4 GT4, as he looks to build from his maiden class win last season.
DNG Automotive
Caleb Paterson and Kent Quinn will contest their first full seasons in 2026, aboard DNG Automotive’s #28 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS in Silver-Am.
The duo made their GT4 Australia at Hampton Downs last year, finishing second in Silver-Am in Race 1. Both drivers are stepping up to the series from Aussie Racing Cars, where Quinn won the 2023 Masters Cup.
By competing in Silver-Am, Quinn will be going up against his nephew Ryder of Thunder Bunnies Racing, who he shared a car with at this year’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
“I spent six or seven years racing in Aussie Racing Cars, so this feels like the right next step. We had a really enjoyable round when we raced earlier, and when the opportunity came up to do the full season it made sense to take it,” Quinn said. “A big part of the reason I’m returning this year is to help Caleb develop. He’s shown plenty of potential and it’ll be good to run together across the whole year and see how we go.”
Pitstop Racing
Series newcomer Pitstop Racing has entered a G55-spec Ginetta GT4 for rookie Keelan Dunston, who is making his return to racing after several years out.
Dunston last competed in 2021, in the Townsville Tin Tops Series. The Australian is set to compete solo in the Silver class this season.
“I see the Monochrome GT4 Australia Series as the pinnacle of motorsport in Australia,” said the 23-year-old. “The grid is incredibly strong and the level of competition is tough, which makes it such an exciting place to race. The Ginetta G55 is an incredible piece of engineering and it really suits my driving style. I’m looking forward to getting the most out of the car this season.”
Edge Motorsport
Jiawei Chen will make his GT4 Australia debut this season, in a part-time campaign with Dean Canto’s Edge Motorsport.
Chen will compete in Silver aboard the #222 BMW M4 GT4, and is making the step up to the series after racing in the IPRA Bathurst Cup last season, aboard a Honda Civic.
The Chinese-born racer currently plans to compete at Phillip Island, The Bend and Sydney Motorsport Park, with the possibility of adding additional outings.
“GT4 felt like the right next step for me,” he said. “It’s a big jump from Improved Production, but the cars are well balanced and it’s still a relatively affordable category compared to GT3, so it made sense to try and progress my racing here. This will be my first time competing against professional drivers in a national championship, so it’s definitely a new challenge, but that’s also what makes it exciting.”
Purdie Racing
Supercars driver Jobe Stewart has joined Audi squad Purdie Racing, for an assault on the Silver class alongside the returning Blake Purdie.
Stewart and Purdie will share the #48 R8 LMS GT4, for Stewart’s first year in GT racing. The 21-year-old is currently also contesting his first full season in Supercars with Erebus Motorsport, having debuted as an Endurance Cup-only driver last year and finishing fourth in the Bathurst 1000.
As well as signing Stewart, Purdie Racing has further reinforced for 2026 with the arrival of Audi GT3 squad Team BRM to help run the car, as it looks to build on a 2025 campaign which saw it claim its maiden GT4 Australia victory at Phillip Island.
“Racing in Monochrome GT4 Australia is going to be awesome. I’ve never driven anything like a GT4 car before – I’ve only raced in Toyota 86s, Super2 and Supercars – so jumping into something with traction control and ABS will be a bit different,” Stewart said.
“I think we definitely have the potential to fight for the championship, but the main thing is to start strong in round one and see how everything plays out. With so many different manufacturers in the field you never quite know what you’re going to get each weekend, which makes it really exciting. It’s something completely new for me and I’m keen to get stuck into it.”
Rennen Motorsport
Melbourne-based Rennen Motorsport will make its GT4 Australia debut, with a single Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS.
The car will be driven by rookie Jensen Shearer, in the Silver class, and compete under the ‘Aperitif Racing’ banner with the #46.
The 21-year-old is making the switch to GT racing for 2026, having previously competed in national-level Formula 3 after stepping up from karting.
“At 21-years-old, I felt it made sense to jump straight into Monochrome GT4 Australia as it’s a great category and a strong platform if you want to build a career in GT racing,” Shearer said.
“The biggest reason for going to Monochrome GT4 Australia was because of the scale of the events, the hospitality and the exposure. The work SRO Motorsports Australia does with the Shannons SpeedSeries makes it a great show for fans, and that gives me a really good way to provide value for sponsors.
“It also gives me a couple of options for the pathway I want to take. I can go down the route of moving into GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS, or go down the Porsche pathway through Sprint Challenge Australia and Porsche Carrera Cup. Right now I’m just focused on getting started and seeing where it leads.”
Multispares Racing
Multispares Racing will expand to a multi-car Ford Mustang GT4 entry for 2026, headlined by the retention of Supercars driver Aaron Cameron.
Cameron, who is entering his second full season in Supercars with Blanchard Racing Team and recently scored a breakthrough maiden podium finish at Sydney Motorsport Park, will team-up with Super2 drivers’ championship leader Lochie Dalton in the #27 Mustang GT4.
Both drivers have previous GT4 Australia experience, after Cameron competed part-time last year, and Dalton ran with Mercedes-AMG customer outfit Bucky Motors since 2024.
“GT4 is a fun category. I did a few rounds with Ryan Hansford last year, and they are just really chill, relaxed race weekends,” Cameron said. “The Mustang GT4 is a great car. It does everything you ask of it and it is clearly a competitive weapon. Our aim is to have some fun, collect a bunch of trophies and keep the Multispares Mustang up front.”
The sister #227 entry, which will compete under RM Racing Cars banner, will be piloted by rookies Cameron McLeod and Mason Harvey.
McLeod finished fifth in last year’s Bathurst 1000, and also won the Dark Horse class at last year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans-supporting Mustang Challenge Le Mans invitational last year. Harvey, meanwhile, is stepping up to GT4 Australia after winning in Saloon Car Nationals, Aussie Racing Cars Super Series and Radical Cup Australia last year.
Keltic Racing
Tony Quinn will again feature on the grid in 2026, aboard the #111 Keltic Racing Toyota Supra GT4 Evo2.
The motorsport veteran will compete solo in Am at Phillip Island, before aiming to bring young talents in as his co-driver on a round-by-round basis.
“I don’t come in with big expectations anymore. I’m not chasing championships or anything like that – I’m just there to enjoy it. It’s about filling in the weekends, being around the paddock and catching up with everyone,” Quinn said.
“I’ll do as many rounds as I can. I’m not sure if I’ll make them all, but I’ll be out there whenever I can. I also like to do it for the Kiwi contingent. Last year we had a few young New Zealand drivers involved, and if the opportunity comes up again this year, we’ll definitely look at doing that.”
Capacity Grid Confirmed
The above entries will all feature in a capacity field for GT4 Australia in 2026, with 34 cars set to contest the season opener at Phillip Island, which will be held on 27th to 29th March.
“We also couldn’t have asked for a better start to the year in Monochrome GT4 Australia with the 34-grid for Phillip Island at capacity,” commented Ben McMellan, CEO of SRO Motorsports Australia.
We have also had a lot of interest from previous competitors to join us at later rounds, while also welcoming a number of new drivers too to the fold. I am really looking forward to the continued growth for GT racing in Australia, which I would like to thank all the competitors, manufacturers and our partners for their unwavering support.”
