Stroll To Make GT World Challenge Debut

Aston Martin Formula 1 driver Lance Stroll is set to make his GT World Challenge Europe debut next weekend, at Circuit Paul Ricard.

The Canadian will share the #18 Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo with fellow rookies Roberto Merhi and Mari Boya, in a one-off fourth entry from the 2024 24 Hours of Spa-winning squad. The trio will compete in the Pro class.

Stroll’s GT3 debut has been enabled by the postponement of the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The 27-year-old has previously made a pair of starts at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, both in prototypes, in 2016 and 2018 respectively.

35-year-old Merhi brings the majority of GT experience to the team, having competed in Super GT’s GT300 category for the past three season. Prema FIA Formula 2 driver Boya, meanwhile, is set to make his first sportscar start.

The #18 Aston Martin will form part of a 59-car grid for the 2026 GT World Challenge Europe season opener at Circuit Paul Ricard, which includes 18 Pro entries. The six-hour race will take place on the 10th to 11th April 2026.
