GT World Challenge Asia travels to Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia this weekend for the second race meeting of the year. 22 cars are on the entry list for Rounds 3 and 4, headlined by a homecoming for local racing hero Sean Gelael.

Gelael, a five-time FIA World Endurance Championship race winner and two-time WEC LMP2 championship runner-up, will drive solo in Garage 75’s Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, which has changed from its regular number 75 (used by its usual combination of David Tjiptobiantoro and Christian Colombo) to the number 50 that Gelael races with in GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
Other changes include those within Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific customer teams. Veteran Klaus Bachler will step into the #918 Absolute Racing 911 GT3 R alongside Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak, and at Phantom Global Racing, Loek Hartog will share the #37 Porsche with Anthony Liu Xu.
Hiroaki Nagai and Porsche Center Okazaki welcome in long-time Toyota factory driver Yuichi Nakayama to drive the #18 Porsche, in place of Kazuto Kotaka, who will race in the SUPER GT Fuji 3 Hour Race that same weekend.
It is due to this same clash that Team 5Zigen has called on Kimiya Sato to replace Atsushi Miyake in the #500 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3.
Another clash between GT World Challenge Asia and IMSA at Laguna Seca has brought on a change at Team KRC, where Neil Verhagen is replaced by Jesse Krohn in the #89 BMW M4 GT3 EVO.
