The second round of the 2026 GT4 European Series will take place at Monza this weekend, with a boosted 44-car field set to take on the fastest circuit on the calendar.
Reigning champions Robert Consani and Benjamin Lariche have proven almost unbeatable at Monza over recent visits, with the Team Speedcar Audi pair winning each of the last three GT4 Europe races held there, all of them from pole.
They will need to return to that sort of form this time around after a tough start to their title defence at Circuit Paul Ricard last month, which yielded just four points from the opening two races – their lowest total after an opening weekend since 2022.
Their troubles opened the door for a pair of new entries to shine, with SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm and CRT-Sport sharing the wins in France. The consistency of SR Motorsport’s GT4 Germany graduates Enrico Förderer and Cedric Fuchs has given them the early points lead, after they backed up their breakthrough victory in Race 1 with a fourth place in the second.
The Mercedes-AMG pilots hold a six-point advantage over the familiar NM Racing Team AMG of Alexandre Papadopulos and Lluc Ibañez. Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin pair Pedro Garcia and Clement Seyler sit third after a tremendous on-track battle helped them to a podium last time out, while the other breakthrough winners, Lucas Cartelle and Hudson Schwartz, are fourth in their CRT Toyota GR Supra.
Pro-Am will feature 18 entries this weekend. Joakim Walde and Victor Bouveng ended their five-year, 25-race wait for a class victory at Circuit Paul Ricard, helping the Schubert Motorsport BMW drivers top the standings.
Daniel Drexel and Christopher Salkeld are second in their Razoon – More than Racing BMW ahead of last year’s class title contenders Joachim Bölting and Hendrik Still in the lead W&S Motorsport Porsche.
With Am class leaders Julien Briché and Nicco Ferrarin moving into Pro-Am, the way is clear for a three-way fight in Am between the W&S Porsche of Daniel Blickle and returning 2025 champion Max Kronberg, the GR Racing Sweden-run Supra of Mikael and Christoffer Brunnhagen and Julien Ripert’s Team Speedcar Audi.
The grid will be boosted by several new entries, including Porsches from Ebimotors and SRS Team Sorg Rennsport for Riccardo Pera/Paolo Gnemmi and Calvin de Groot/Ross Poole respectively.
CMR will field an extra Ginetta for Jack Mitchell and Georgi Dimitrov, whilst SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm has bolstered its effort with a second Mercedes-AMG for Joel Mesch and Julien Apotheloz.
The second round of the 2026 GT4 European Series will take place on 29th to 31st May, with the pair of 60-minute races scheduled for 17:40 CEST on Saturday 30th, and 13:50 CEST on Sunday 31st, respectively.
