A Silver Cup class has been added to the FIA GT World Cup, ahead of the ninth edition of the event later this year.
The FIA GT World Cup, which is held on the famed Macau Guia Circuit, will once again run exclusively for GT3 cars in 2026.
In the past few years, the majority of the grid has been made up of Platinum or Gold-rated competitors, although with rising interest in GT3 racing from Silver-graded drivers, a distinct class has now been added for them.
Last year, two Silver-ranked pilots featured on the 16-car field, Adderly Fong and Deng Yi, with three having competed in 2024.
The Silver class will have its own distinct podium, as well as US$22,000 of prize money.
Organisers will be hoping that the addition of this class will help bolster the field, after 2025 featured a dramatic 30% drop in entries following a new torque sensor mandate, which notably saw Mercedes-AMG skip the event.
Entries for the event are now open, until 17th July 2026.
The 2026 FIA GT World Cup will be held on 19th to 22nd November 2026.
