Mercedes-AMG customer outfit KCMG has revealed an all-Japanese driver line-up for this weekend’s Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie round, headlined by Le Mans winner Kamui Kobayashi.
Kobayashi, who scored his second 24 Hours of Le Mans victory last weekend, will race alongside Nirei Fukuzumi and Naoya Gamou, both of whom competed for the Hong Kong-based squad at last month’s 24H Nürburgring. KCMG’s #47 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO ran competitively at the 24-hour event, but retired early on after getting caught up in an accident.
Kobayashi previously raced for KCMG at the ‘Ring during April’s NLS3, when the team claimed its best finish of the season so far, fourth.
“I’m looking forward to racing with KCMG again after an enjoyable experience at NLS3,” Kobayashi said.
“I’ll aim to keep on improving in GT3 machinery around the Nordschleife. This is another great opportunity to continue the learning process aroundthis iconic circuit. With an all-Japanese line-up, we’re hopeful that we can have a positive weekend.”
Paul Ip, KCMG founder, added: ”As we begin the second half of the season, our ambitions remain high. We are proud to field an all-Japanese line-up featuring Kamui Kobayashi, fresh from his fantastic victory at Le Mans, alongside Nirei Fukuzumi and Naoya Gamou.
“The Nürburgring is one of the most demanding circuits in the world and provides the perfect environment for our drivers and team to continue developing. We look forward to a strong weekend and to building momentum for the remainder of the season.”
NLS6 will take place on Saturday 20th June 2026.
