The GT4 European Series will reach the midpoint of its 2026 campaign this weekend at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, with a 44-car field set to contest a pair of support races to the 24 Hours of Spa.
When it comes to debut seasons, SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm’s performance so far takes some beating. GT4 Germany graduates Enrico Förderer and Cedric Fuchs have scored a stunning three victories from the opening four races across Circuit Paul Ricard and Monza to lay down a formidable marker in the Silver drivers’ title race aboard the #111 Mercedes-AMG.
However, such is the competitiveness of the Silver class that can all change quickly. Lucas Cartelle and Hudson Schwartz are the only crew to defeat the #111 AMG so far, with their breakthrough win at Circuit Paul Ricard for the new CRT-Sport Toyota team helping them run second. An off-colour weekend in Monza hurt Lluc Ibañez and Alex Papadopulos, so the #15 NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG pair will be keen to return to podium-challenging form in Belgium.
Defending champions Robert Consani and Benjamin Lariche were rapid but unlucky in Italy. While the #1 Team Speedcar Audi pair scored a second place to finally get their title defence rolling, they are still searching for their first win of the year and already trail Förderer/Fuchs by 53 points.
Pro-Am also boasts a tight entry. #98 Schubert Motorsport BMW pair Joakim Walde and Victor Bouveng have yet to finish lower than second, and therefore hold the early lead in the drivers’ standings. Daniel Drexel and Chris Salkeld have been winners in their #70 Razoon – More Than Racing M4 while Paolo and Davide Meloni make it three BMWs at the top of the standings thanks to their steady points-scoring form aboard the #53 W&D Racing Team M4.
Lotus PB Racing shone on home soil at Monza with a class win for Maurizio Copetti and Massimiliano Schiavone.
Despite being the only Am class entrants yet to win a race, a streak of podium finishes has helped Mikael and Christoffer Brunnhagen to lead the class in Gazoo Racing Sweden’s #53 Toyota Supra. They will resume battle with Max Kronberg/Daniel Blickle’s #30 W&S Porsche and Julien Ripert in his #44 Team Speedcar Audi.
New entries for Spa come from Full Send Racing, which brings the #23 Pro-Am Aston Martin for Daniel Lavery and Darren Turner, and a third NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG shared by Australian brothers Joshua and Diesel Thomas in Silver.
The Alpine brand returns to the grid, with 2024 Am champion Laurent Hurgon sharing the Chazel Technologie Course-entered #93 A110 GT4+ in Pro-Am with Lazare Lartigau, whilst additional BMWs come courtesy of Lestrup Racing, and its Pro-Am #97 M4 shared by Daniel Varverud and Stefan Nilsson, and the Silver-entered #66 ME Motorsport M4 driven by Philip Wiskirchen and Linus Hahne.
In total, 22 cars are entered into the Silver class, with 19 in Pro-Am, and three in Am.
Track action at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps begins with a pair of pre-event test sessions on Tuesday 23rd June. The GT4 European Series competitors will then participate in Wednesday’s pre-event parade, before a pair of Free Practice sessions are held on Thursday.
Friday sees qualifying, before Race 1, GT4 Europe’s annual night race, begins at 21:35 CEST. Race 2 then follows at 10:40 CEST.
