UPDATE: The #50 AF Corse Ferrari has had all of its lap times from Superpole deleted, after post-session checks revealed its data logger was not connected, meaning that no Pboost data was recorded.
The #66 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi has had all of its lap times deleted, due to running a minimum ride height and wing position which was non-compliant with its BoP. The #6 GetSpeed Team Bartone Bros Mercedes-AMG has therefore inherited Silver Cup pole position.
The #7 Comtoyou Racing and #34 Walkenhorst Motorsport Aston Martins have also had all of their lap times deleted for BoP non-compliance, with the pair of Vantage GT3 Evos found to be overboosting by 15 Mbar and 16 Mbar respectively.
AF Corse’s Alessio Rovera has scored pole position for the 2026 24 Hours of Spa, after a dominant display in this afternoon’s Superpole aboard the #51 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo.
The Ferrari factory driver topped the first three sessions to lead the field into the final one-lap shootout, where he faced off against the sister #50 Ferrari of Arthur Leclerc, the #58 Garage 59 McLaren GT3 Evo of Tom Fleming, and Jules Gounon’s #3 Verstappen Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO.
Rovera, who ran second on the road behind Leclerc, was fastest in all three sectors as he delivered a 2:18.613 to claim Ferrari’s first 24 Hours of Spa pole position since 2017, with the Italian marque equalling Chevrolet on seven pole positions.
Rovera established his advantage in the first phase of the new, four-part Superpole format, which saw the initial 32-car field repeatedly halved in quick fire sessions until the final four was determined. The same set of tyres had to be used in all four parts, and by only requiring one flying lap in Superpole 1, the #51 Ferrari then had a tyre advantage throughout.
“The conditions were really difficult,” Rovera said. “I didn’t expect to have so little grip, I was sliding quite a lot, but I think it was the same for everyone. The key of this Superpole in the end was to do just one lap per qualifying, to have less laps on the tyres.”
Fleming qualified second, 0.428 seconds back, with the Briton also securing Gold Cup pole.
Third went to Leclerc, with a 2:19.261, whilst a 2:19.735 saw Gounon settle for fourth on the grid.
The first part of Superpole, a 10-minute session, saw several major contenders miss out on progressing.
This included all the Pro entries from Aston Martin, BMW and Lamborghini, as well as the #2 Boutsen VDS and #22 Schumacher CLRT Porsches.
This means the past three winning outfits will all have to fight their way through the field this year, with Mirko Bortolotti qualifying the #63 TGI Team by GRT Lamborghini Temerario GT3 in 20th for its 24-hour race debut. Raffaele Marciello’s #98 ROWE Racing BMW was 21st, with the #007 Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin of Mattia Drudi in 24th overall.
“Realistically speaking, we’ve had no pace all week,” admitted Jordan Pepper, who qualified the #32 Team WRT BMW in 18th.
“The team’s done an incredible job, that was a really nice BMW to drive out there. We’ve made some good steps over the week, but unfortunately we’re not in the same league as the others. The lap itself was pretty good, I maybe left half a out there, which could have been enough, but I’m not going to grasp at those straws because we’re way off.”
2025 pole sitter Marvin Kirchhöfer improved on his final lap of Superpole 1 to place the #59 Garage 59 Mclaren in 16th and advance, but the German wasn’t so lucky in Superpole 2.
“To be honest, we’ve been on the back foot since we started on Tuesday for the paid test session,’ Kirchhofer said. “At Monza, everyone knows the story, the car was pretty much done and we didn’t have time to prepare for this race, basically starting from scratch, and some unique conditions no one’s really experience before here hasn’t made our lives easier.”
The McLaren was in the top eight as the chequered flag flew, but improvements from the #66 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi of Ariel Levi and #71 Selected Car Racing Ferrari of Frederik Schandorff saw the German fall to ninth.
The #59 McLaren will share the fifth row of the grid with the #99 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi, with the #64 HRT Ford Racing Mustang GT3 Evo and #80 Lionspeed GP Porsche also eliminated at this stage.
The focus then turned to Superpole 3, a seven-minute session which determined the final four contenders. In a dramatic final lap, Leclerc, Fleming and Gounon all improved from below the cutline to progress.
The #71 Selected Car Racing Ferrari of Frederik Schandorff qualified fifth, with the Dane only 0.039 seconds behind Gounon, with Levi securing Silver Cup pole aboard the #66 Audi in sixth overall following a breakout session from the 28-year-old.
Dennis Marshall was seventh in the #74 Kessel Racing Ferrari, which earned Bronze Cup pole yesterday as the only car from the class to progress to Superpole, with Lucas Auer’s Mann-Filter-backed #48 Mercedes-AMG completing the top eight.
The 2026 24 Hours of Spa is scheduled to start at 16:30 CEST tomorrow.
