Snetterton will host the opening rounds of the 2027 British GT Championship for the first time in its history, the Stephane Ratel Organisation (SRO) has confirmed.
The 35th season of British GT features a rearranged schedule with the same six circuit visits, including eight races spread over seven months, beginning with Snetterton in April and ending with the Donington Decider in October.
Whilst British GT has previously begun a season with sprint races before, they have typically been at Oulton Park; it has never launched at Snetterton.
SRO unveiled the 2027 calendar amid a series of announcements on their global selection of GT racing championships at this year’s 24 Hours of Spa press conference.
British GT’s blue-riband Silverstone 500 event has been moved to August, following its April start to the ongoing 2026 campaign.
SRO will confirm the date and location of the media day test, which traditionally takes place ahead of the season opener, at a later date.
2027 will start with a pair of 1-hour sprint races at Snetterton on 24-25 April, on the same weekend as the FIA WEC’s return to Silverstone, followed by two more sprint races at Oulton Park during the Bank Holiday weekend on 29-31 May.
British GT then heads to Spa for their 2-hour Speedweek race on 19-20 June, preceding SRO’s headline Spa 24 Hours event one week later.
Silverstone’s prestigious three-hour enduro follows on 14-15 August, before the grid heads to Brands Hatch GP for a 2-hour race on 11-12 September.
Donington Park returns to its typical spot as the Decider next year on 16-17 October.
The Ginetta Juniors, GT Academy, and the GT Championship will support British GT at the five domestic UK events next year.
Their calendars will be confirmed in due course, along with standalone races, such as the Ginetta G-Fest at Croft which took place this past weekend.
