The Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II will make its DTM return at the Sachsenring this weekend, with Simon Connor Primm set to make his series debut in a guest appearance for Seyffarth Motorsport.
Primm, who races an Audi for Seyffarth Motorsport-run HGL Racing in the ADAC GT Masters, is taking advantage of the Sachsenring being one of the events where ADAC GT Masters doesn’t feature on the DTM support bill to step up to the ADAC’s leading GT3 championship.
The German, who is a former member of the Lamborghini GT3 Junior Programme, has previously won in GT3 machinery in both International GT Open and ADAC GT Masters competition.
“The DTM has always been a huge dream of mine,” said the 21-year-old. “Five years ago, I was still racing in karts. As such, it feels really special to start in the DTM with Audi this weekend.”
Primm and experienced GT squad Seyffarth, which was founded in 1976, previously attended an unofficial DTM pre-season test at Vallelunga earlier this year.
The addition of Primm brings the entry up to a season-high of 22 cars for the penultimate round of the 2026 DTM season, whilst Audi’s return adds a ninth manufacturer to the grid. It also means that the German marque will keep its streak of having competed in every season of the DTM since it was relaunched in 2000 alive for at least another year.
The DTM will race at the Sachsenring, Germany from 11th to 13th September 2026.
