KCMG To Field All-Japanese Line-Ups In NLS Double-Header

KCMG will return to Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie action this weekend, fielding an all-Japanese line-up aboard its #47 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO.

The Hong Kong-based team will contest both four-hour races which make up the double-header round, running a different driving pairing in each race.

In Saturday’s NLS8, Kamui Kobayashi and Naoya Gamou will take turns behind the wheel. This is the same duo which raced for KCMG during its most recent NLS outing in June, when they qualified on the front row of the grid and finished in the top 10.

“We’ll see much cooler track conditions than when we last raced here in June, so that’ll be an interesting difference,” Kobayashi said.

“The main target of the weekend is to gain more valuable mileage and confidence. It’s a pleasure to drive this iconic circuit and I’m looking forward to working with the team again.”

Then in Sunday’s NLS9, Nirei Fukuzumi and Sho Tsuboi will race the #47 Mercedes-AMG. Fukuzumi last competed for KCMG at the ‘Ring in May’s 24-hour race, whilst Tsuboi is making his second-ever GT3 start on the Nordschleife having also featured for KCMG in March’s NLS2.

Team manager Matt Howson said: “As we head towards the end of the 2026 season, we’re delighted to return to the Nürburgring once again for the double-header at NLS8 and 9.

“With the split line-ups of Naoya Gamou and Kamui Kobayashi on Saturday, before Nirei Fukuzumi and Sho Tsuboi take on Sunday, it’s the perfect opportunity for maximum driver track time as they continue to build experience on the Nordschleife. After the #47 KCMG Mercedes-AMG started on the front row last time out at NLS6, we have high expectations to continue running at the front, and we look to convert our speed into a strong race result.”

NLS8 and NLS9 will take take place on 12th and 13th September 2026 respectively.
