17 Cars For GT2 Europe At Zandvoort

A reduced 17-car field is set to take part in the penultimate round of the 2026 GT2 European Series at Circuit Zandvoort this weekend.

With two cars in Silver, eight in Pro-Am, six in Masters and one TBC, it’s the smallest grid of the campaign, but still over double the entry which competed at the Dutch venue last season.

This year’s field has proven as competitive as it is unpredictable, with each of the three class championships featuring multiple winners from the six races to-date.

Four different cars have already won in Pro-Am, with the only repeat winner being the #111 SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm Mercedes-AMG of SRO GT Academy leader Jay Mo Härtling and David Thilenius.

The pair has a 25-point lead in the Pro-Am standings, but has not proved unbeatable. Lawrence Tomlinson and Mike Simpson’s #62 CMR Ginetta was a winner at Spa and has been a regular podium challenger since, while the KTMs from both Razoon – more than racing and MZR have also shared glory.

One brand still waiting for a top Pro-Am score is Maserati, but Dinamic Motorsport’s golden GT2 returns in the hands of Mauro Calamia and Roberto Pampanini, who were winners at Zandvoort last year. Iron Dames by SP Racing duo Sarah Bovy and Laura van den Hengel are also back aboard a Maserati GT2. Nil Montserrat and Alberto De Martin will also be hoping for a win, having been second three times already this season in their NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG.

A huge accident for i4Race driver Antoine Potty last time out at Misano means that his #7 i4race Maserati is skipping this event, opening the way for Ethan Gialdini and Mikkel Njor to make a major step in their quest to become the inaugural Silver champions.

The #3 CMR Ginetta crew took their third victory of the year in Italy to move 21 points ahead of Adrian Ferrer’s NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG and 34 clear of Potty.

Philippe Prette could make a piece of history in Masters, should fortune go the way of the #1 LP Racing Maserati driver this weekend. Having won three times and only finished lower than second once all season, Prette holds a 40-point advantage and could be crowned champion for a third consecutive season this weekend if he can extend that to 52 by the end of play. The fact he claimed an outright victory during the last visit here shows he has the form to do just that.

RTR Projects KTM crew Viktor Mraz and Davit Kajaia will be aiming to stop that from happening, as will the team’s Mercedes-AMG pairing of Petr Lisa and Ondrej Rokos, who bounced back from a bruising Spa weekend with a strong performance in Misano to move up to third in the points. Nothing can be taken for granted in this tight six-car field.

In the SRO GT Academy, Härtling currently holds a 64-point advantage in the race to landed a funded seat with a Mercedes-AMG Customer Team in the 2027 GT World Challenge Endurance Cup after a stellar campaign. With Potty sidelined, Gialdini, SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm’s Moritz Wiskirchen and Njor lead the chase.

The fourth round of the 2026 GT2 European Series will take place at Circuit Zandvoort on 18th to 20th September. A pair of 60-minute Free Practice sessions will be held on Friday 18th, ahead of Qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday, with Race 2 scheduled for Sunday morning.
