Congratulations to Charlotte and Marc!

Nielsen Racing have been getting better and better results in recent weeks and months and today we can announce a particularly special one as communications manager Charlotte Lumley revealed to DSC that she had said “Yes” to a proposal from chief mechanic Marc Scaife.

Charlotte is pictured above left with her betrothed Marc centre – Fred (pictured right) is a dog.

Whilst it is unlikely in the extreme that this was the first time Mark had proposed something to Charlotte, this time it came with the added benefit of a stonking great diamond ring!

Congratulations to the happy couple who plan to marry just as soon as the racing schedule allows – Any year soon then!!

Rookie Test oversubscribed

The entry list for Sunday’s Rookie Test is oversubscribed, with teams from the European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup set to share the circuit for five hours of running.

Beyond the Rookie Test, multiple teams will stay on at Portimão to test on Monday and Tuesday next week, before the Portuguese venue switches from ACO to SRO mode ahead of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup season finale on Saturday 17th October.

Diecast Endurance

Whilst the longest races seen these days usually extend to 25 hours, one ongoing endurance contest has been running for much longer!

Diecast Endurance on YouTube has been testing the endurance of various 1:64 scale diecasts on a treadmill, with a Mini GT Cadillac V-Series.R and Spark Models ORECA 07 – Gibson currently on their 18th day of consecutive running, having covered over 45,000 scale miles and getting on for 750 real miles!
