Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA has finalised its 2027 FIA WEC Hypercar driver line-ups, confirming two key departures and two key arrivals.
Antonio Felix da Costa is set to return to the JOTA set-up upon leaving the Alpine Hypercar programme, and IMSA GTP regular Ricky Taylor will add a Hypercar title tilt to an expected full-time IMSA campaign with Wayne Taylor Racing. The pair will join Norman Nato, Will Stevens, Earl Bamber and Jack Aitken, who will remain part of the team in 2027.
Five of the six drivers are set to compete in all nine World Championship races for Cadillac next season, with da Costa the outlier. He will miss the 6 Hours of São Paulo because of a clash with the Formula E round in Shanghai.
Da Costa previously raced for the JOTA team during one of its most successful periods, capturing an FIA World Endurance Championship LMP2 title and scoring a class victory at Le Mans with the British team in 2022.
“It feels really special to be coming back to JOTA,” he says. “I have some amazing memories with this team; we achieved a lot together, and I still have so many friends here, so in many ways it feels like coming home. At the same time, this is a completely new challenge and one that I’m incredibly excited about. The team has shown what it is capable of at the very highest level, and I’m coming back with one goal – to help Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA fight for wins and championships.”
Cadillac Racing driver Ricky Taylor is also familiar with Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, having raced for the team at COTA earlier this season in the #12 V-Series.R while Alex Lynn recovered from neck surgery. In IMSA, Taylor has amassed 32 victories and 76 podium finishes and looks to add WEC honours to his tally.
“I’m incredibly honoured to be joining Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA for the 2027 season,” Taylor adds. “Racing full-time in a FIA World Championship is something I’ve never had the opportunity to do before, so I’m excited for the prospect and to be joining a team that has spent so many years achieving podiums and wins on the world stage.
“I already know many of the team and drivers from my time in IMSA, and I also had the opportunity to race with Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA in Austin this year, so I already feel right at home. I can’t wait to get started!”
Sam Hignett, director and co-founder of Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, believes the pair will fit seamlessly into the team’s driver stable.
“In Antonio and Ricky, we are welcoming two enormously talented drivers who already know the team well and understand what we are about,” he said. “Both bring a huge amount of experience, but just as importantly, they are great team players and will fit seamlessly into the group we already have. Alongside Jack, Earl, Norman and Will, we believe we have a formidable line-up for 2027, with the experience, speed and team spirit to achieve great things together.”
Eric Warren, the vice president of GM’s global motorsports competition, added that the driver crew JOTA has put together provides the programme with a “strong foundation” for the season ahead.
“We are delighted to welcome Antonio and Ricky to Cadillac for 2027. Both drivers bring experience, race-winning pedigree and technical expertise to the team. In a series where teamwork and chemistry are vital, Ricky and Antonio already have a long-standing relationship with everyone at Cadillac,” he added.
Da Costa and Taylor will join JOTA’s WEC programme as Alex Lynn and Sebastien Bourdais depart.
Alex Lynn, who is back with the JOTA team for the final two WEC races of 2026 after a stint on the sidelines recovering from a neck injury, said he has “so many beautiful memories” that he will “cherish forever” from his time with JOTA.
“I’ve had an amazing time with JOTA over the past two years and with Cadillac Racing over the last five years,” he continued. “I’ve had the honour of driving the car to four WEC pole positions, including the most special one at Le Mans, being one of the driving crew that took the first overall podium at Le Mans, the first overall WEC win and two overall Sebring 12 Hours wins.
“Thank you to every person involved from both GM and from the teams I was fortunate enough to drive for; I hope I did you proud. I always gave everything I had, and will continue to do so for the last two races.”
Lynn’s 2027 plans will be confirmed shortly.
Bourdais meanwhile, has been a part of the Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA programme since its inception, bringing knowledge, experience and leadership to the team, and delivered multiple podium finishes during his two seasons in the #38 V-Series.R.
“I’m very proud of what we have achieved together over the last two seasons. Joining JOTA with Cadillac was a new challenge for all of us, and it has been very rewarding to see how the programme has progressed and to have contributed to some strong results along the way.
“I’ve really enjoyed working with everyone at JOTA and continuing my relationship with Cadillac, and I have a lot of respect for the people involved in this programme. We still have two races to go this season, so my focus now is on doing the best job we can together and finishing on a high.”
David Clark, the director and co-founder of Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, thanked Alex and Seb for their contribution to the programme.
“The pair have played an important role in the team’s journey with Cadillac, helping establish the programme at the front of the FIA World Endurance Championship and contributing to some of its most memorable performances,” he concluded.
