TGR Team ENEOS ROOKIE Appeals Race 1 Disqualification

ROOKIE Racing (TGR Team ENEOS ROOKIE) has appealed its disqualification from yesterday’s first leg of the SUPER GT season finale at Mobility Resort Motegi.

The #14 ENEOS X Prime Toyota GR Supra of Nirei Fukuzumi and Kazuya Oshima finished second on the road behind the victorious #12 TRS Impul Nissan Z NISMO GT500. Hours after the conclusion of the race, the #14 Toyota was disqualified for excessive skid block wear.

However the results from what is officially “Round 3” of the 2026 season are not yet official, at least on the GT500 side. Last night the team submitted a written statement to the Competition Judging Committee exercising its right to appeal the decision – and the team confirmed it had appealed the decision this morning.

It casts an air of uncertainty over Sunday’s 53-lap championship finale. Should the appeal result in the #14 Toyota being reinstated, it would be in contention to win the GT500 championship – albeit with a very slim chance of overhauling either the #100 Stanley Honda HRC Prelude-GT (Naoki Yamamoto/Tadasuke Makino) or the #36 au TOM’S Toyota GR Supra (Sho Tsuboi/Kenta Yamashita) in the standings.

Saturday’s results in GT300, however, are now official after the #26 Anest Iwata Gainer Nissan Fairlady Z’s disqualification for exceeding its maximum boost pressure was upheld.
