Alexander Sims and Philipp Eng will join ROWE Racing for the 2016 season. Both drivers will drive in the team’s new BMW M6 GT3 cars in the Blancpain Endurance and Sprint Series.
Reigning Porsche Super Cup and Porsche Carrera Cup champion Philipp Eng has switched to the GT3 category to continue his sportscar career. Former McLaren Autosport BRDC award winner Alexander Sims meanwhile brings a vast amount of GT experience to the team with runner up position in last year’s British GT championship as well as Blancpain Series participations over the last couple of years.
Alexander Sims: “This will be my third year with BMW which I am really pleased about and to be elevated to a full European program with a team like ROWE RACING is a great opportunity for me. I’ve experienced some fantastic racing thanks to BMW and I expect this year to be the highlight so far with a jam packed program.
“I’m really looking forward to the exciting challenges ahead and cannot wait to bring the all new BMW M6 GT3 through its first season of racing.”
