Andreas Wirth is the latest man to be confirmed as being given reserve driver status, this time at SMP Racing, the team, as with others along the pit lane, keen to ensure that they aren’t caught out with an issue for any of their currently confirmed drivers.
Wirth will drive the requisite 10 laps tomorrow in one of the BR01 Nissans.

A seemingly minor sentence in the fuel rig specification is causing problems here, the ACO have clarified a point that will lead to rigs from three separate suppliers, covering half of the Le Mans grid, requiring an internal component changed.
“It is not a safety related component and it was simply one of those instances that meant the regulation concerned was misread not buy one supplier, but by three major suppliers”. All three are understood to have mobilised as many staff as possible to make the required changes.
