It’s good to see Nelson Piquet Jr back at Le Mans after a decade away from the race.
This year he’s driving in LMP1 with Rebellion aboard the #12 R-One, and looking forward to getting stuck in once again.
“It took about four or five laps to get up to speed driving around here in a prototype on the Test Day,” he told DSC. “It’s a piece of cake really. The only worry is that I haven’t driven in the wet on the Dunlop tyres, and the forecast isn’t good.”
“Last time here I was with Team Modena in an Aston, and it was the hardest race of my life. I hadn’t driven in a GT car before, or at the track, so it was really tough.
“We hope for a good result, but there’s nothing we can do, it’s all down to the factory teams making mistakes.”
