We last saw the Dutch V8 Racing outfit in action at the Dubai 24 Hours, their ex GT1 Corvette setting Pole position and running well up throughout the season starting enduro.
Their full season plans though again focus on the International GT Open, the team out to defend their 2013 Super GT title with no fewer than three Corvettes currently fielded for the 2014 Series.
Again for 2014, the team will continue their technical working relationship with Pratt & Miller and their customer Engineer Alex Roberge. This year, the team will campaign their GTE C6R chasis for the second season, as well as both their seasoned ex-GT1 machine and their GT3 spec Corvette.
Dubai polesetter Nicky Pastorelli will again be paired up with Miguel Ramos in one of the team’s ex GT1 C6.R machines.
Archie Hamilton is a new face to the team but an established player in the Series.
“This deal means a great deal to me. I really had a tough time last season after we had been developing the car with Porsche all year and then the fire ended my season. Nicky Pastorelli was in second place when I was leading that race and ever since we kept in contact. It’s just fantastic to be in the best team in the paddock.
“V8 Racing was always a team I wanted to drive for and to get the chance in the Corvette GT2 car in a series which I have been successful in is great. My team-mate has been very quick in the past seasons and I’m looking forward to working with him and my engineers to try and hit the ground running. I hope we can repay everyone’s faith this year with some great results for the team.”
The young Brit will join Diederick Sijthoff in a second car, this time an ex factory GT2/ GTE machine, also running in the top Super GT class.
The third car is another new look driver squad as highly rated Dennis Retera is joined by young Belgian hotshoe Dylan Derdaele.
Both Derdaele and Retera will take over the teams GT3 spec Corvette in the GTS class. “I am very happy to join the V8 Racing team in the International GT Open Championship and drive their Corvette GT3″ explained Dederdaele. “This gives me the opportunity to race with some very experienced GT drivers and I am looking forward to this challenge.”
