Two different corners will look quite different by the time we get to the Circuit de la Sarthe in June with the first stage of a wholesale safety review in the wake of the tragic events of last year’s Le Mans 24 Hours.
2014’s race will see not only the introduction of the GPS based ‘slow zones’ in-car marshalling system but also changes at both Tertre Rouge and Corvette Corner.
David Legangneux’s shot below show the state of works this week at the site of Allan Simonsen’s accident, armco removed in preparation for the next stage of work to begin.
The following two shots show a more advanced stage of work underway at Corvette Corner this week, this will be the only site in the Porsche Curves section to be dealt with for 2014 though there are set to be more changes for next year’s race.
