Audi Sport has revealed two key updates to its R8 LMS GT4 alongside the announcement of the latest-spec road-going R8 model (the R8 V10 RWD).
The newest evolution of the R8 LMS GT4 features “a new design and noticeable optimisations in terms of vehicle dynamics. With even more precise adjustment options in the future.”
Most notable, the car now features ABS and Traction Control systems which can be adjusted by the driver.
According to Audi Sport, “the programme characteristics allow for eight different settings, respectively, which the driver can individually select, depending on weather, track conditions and tyre grip, while racing.”
To enable this system to work, the new R8 LMS GT4 utilises the same steering wheel as the R8’s GT2 model. The wheel features two rotary switches for ABS and TC that are centrally located in the steering wheel, directly within the drivers’ view. This will make it easy to make changes on the fly while focusing on the road ahead.
Currently, there are 27 Audi Sport R8 LMS GT4s in customer’s hands racing around the world.
