Porsche factory driver Laurens Vanthoor will play no further part in the 2021 Spa 24 Hours after being injured in a paddock accident, his scooter hit by a quad bike, leaving the Belgian star with facial injuries.
An overnight Tweet from Laurens confirmed:
“On my way back to the paddock I got hit by a quad while riding my step. I landed heavily on my head and have multiple wounds in my face.
“I’m doing fine but currently at the hospital for further checks and stitches.”
Porsche Motorsport confirmed that the #47 KCMG Porsche 911 GT3 R will continue with Maxime Martin and Nick Tandy set to continue.
