Harry Tinknell will join Porsche SuperCup racer France Florian Latorre and Thai driver Inthraphuvasak Vuttikhorn in a completely changed driver squad for the #99 Proton Competition Porsche for next weekend’s 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Tincknell will then complete the set of four classes at Le Mans with an LMP1 appearance for Nissan in 2015, a class-winning run in LMP2 for Jota in 2014 and five GTE Pro appearances, four for the Ganassi Ford outfit and a winning run for Aston Martin in last year’s race.
Latorre will make his Le Mans and GTE debut whilst Vuttikhorn will make his second consecutive appearance after racing to tenth in class, again in Proton’s #99 car, last year.
The #99, which is finished in an orange-coloured version of the regular Proton colour scheme, had been slated to be raced by Patrick Long, Felipe Laser and Gianluca Giraudi but the plan for a full replacement crew has been known for some time.
