ARC Bratislava Target Return To FIA WEC & Asian Le Mans Series In 2022

ORECA In WEC, Ligier In Asia

Miro Konopka told DSC post-race that he hopes to return to the WEC in 2022 with the ARC Bratislava Oreca 07, after a race where the team had some breakthrough pace, Kush Maini on his WEC debut bringing the car back up into the LMP2 pack and Oliver Webb putting in further good work before the car was delayed with power steering failure.

ARC Bratislava also look set to contest the 2022 Asian Le Mans Series in LMP2 with the team’s Ligier JS P217 Gibson, the car having a full Le Mans stock of spares after the late decision to switch to the ex SPS performance Oreca after the start of the current WEC season.

“We have plenty of spares to do the Asian Series,” said Miro to the DSC Editor, “and we would need to have a different car from any WEC campaign because the freighting schedule means the ORECA would have to be en route to Sebring for the Prologue test.

If selected for the 2022 FIA WEC there is every likelihood that the effort would be supported by an existing LMP2 team on the technical, engineering and logistical fronts.
