Race
From a first pole position, Karol Basz had a perfect kick-off, taking the lead ahead of Jefferies, Christodoulou, Hites and Van Berlo. The first laps were pretty quiet, with Valente leading the second group ahead of Baud, Moss and Korzeniowski, first among Am cars.
In the lead, the gap of Basz remained minimal, just a half-second by lap 6, with Christodoulou and Hites also very close, while Jackson and Cuhadaroglu suffered contact, with the Brit spinning and then going into the pits to retire and the Turk getting a penalty of 5 seconds on top of visible damage at the front end.
On lap 11, Jefferies caught Basz and started duelling with the Pole, while the close fight between Van Berlo and Valente led to a contact and a spin of the Lamborghini, with both being passed by Korzeniowski.
Lap 15, and traffic saw the lead briefly change but Basz managed to regain the lead and pull away a little from Jefferies and Christodoulou. At the same time, the pit stop window opened. The Ferrari of Fumanelli, forced back to the pits to retire after the driver change after losing bodywork parts following the earlier incident.
After all the mandatory driver changes were completed, Zeimian led by 4 seconds from Juffali and by 6 seconds from Marcin Jedlinski.
Further aback were Pulcini, Gilardoni, Osborne, Jans, Laber and Mettler, while Konrad was first among the Am class ahead of Sak Nana and Stanley.
In the final laps, Pulcini’s charge would bring him to the lead and an eventual comfortable second win, with Osborne doing the same up to 2nd while Juffali clinched another Pro-Am win and podium overall, following a penalty for track limits inflicted to Gilardoni, who had crossed the line ahead of the Saudi driver in third.
The last incident of the race was for Zeimian, who had a spectacular spin in the final lap. Konrad took the win in Am ahead of Stanley and S.Jedlinski.
The #5 Olimp Racing and #11 Kessel Ferraris and the #8 Il Barone Rampante Lamborghini were all non-starters after the damage caused in yesterday’s lap 1 accident proved beyond repair at the circuit in the time available.
