With the 2022 FIA WEC season finale in Bahrain confirmed as the final race for the Alpine Endurance Team’s grandfathered LMP1 Hypercar effort with the ex Rebellion R13 Gibson, Alpine A480, Philippe Sinault’s team are closing in on their 2023 programme.
Next season will see a bridging effort in LMP2 before the team move back into the HyperCar class, this time with an ORECA-based Alpine built to the LMDH ruleset.
The team’s current plans involve a two-car LMP2 programme with one car looking likely to revert to an all-female line-up.
The all-female-crewed Richard Mille Racing effort contested the ELMS in 2020 before moving to the FIA WEC in 2021. 2022 saw the squad change to a mixed line-up, principally to accommodate the programme of Sebastien Ogier, his departure seems to have prompted a switch back next year.
Signatech’s Alpine efforts in LMP2 have already seen major success with titles in the ELMS, FIA WEC and at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
