SRO Motorsports America Shifts Calendar, New Orleans Moved To April

Sonoma Raceway will now host GT World Challenge America's opening rounds

There has been another change in the SRO Motorsports Group America racing calendars for 2023. Today it was announced that the series’ second annual visit to NOLA Motorsports Park near the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, has been rescheduled.

The NOLA round, originally set for February, has now been moved to 28-30 April, in order to avoid clashing with the Intercontinental GT Challenge Kyalami 9 Hour Race. It will also alleviate concerns with the deliveries of new cars from manufacturers – including the newest Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) and Ferrari 296 GT3.

The flagship GT World Challenge America series will now begin their season at Sonoma Raceway, as they have done since 2021. The dates for the Sonoma round remain unchanged, still locked in for 30 March-2 April. Prior to that, the GT America sprint championship will begin its season on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, on 3-5 March.

GT4 America, TC America, and the new Toyota GR Cup will also begin their 2023 seasons at Sonoma.
