Juan-Manuel Correa To WEC With Prema In LMP2

Two-car LMP2 effort confirmed

Prema has confirmed their requested two-car LMP2 entry for the 2023 FIA WEC with Doriane Pin the first confirmed driver for the #63 car and Juan-Manuel Correa as part of an all-new line-up in the sister #9 car.

Correa steps up to the WEC after a late start to his ELMS campaign in 2022 which yielded strong performances, helping to seal the title for the Italian squad.

The 23-year-old Ecuadorian-American started his car racing career with PREMA in 2016, and has already had the chance to drive an FIA WEC car in the post-season rookie test in Bahrain.

The full line-up of PREMA’s 2023 FIA WEC stable will be announced in due course.

Juan Manuel Correa: “It’s super exciting to be taking the next step up the endurance racing ladder alongside my Formula 2 commitments in 2023. ELMS was a new challenge for me last year and one that I really enjoyed, so thank you to PREMA for keeping me on board as they step up to this new two-car entry in FIA WEC. We have a very cool calendar and there are some tracks I’m really looking forward to racing at for the first time, so I’m looking forward to another exciting season with the team.”

There are three calendar clashes with Correa’s proposed 2023 F2 programme. As yet unannounced is which programme will take precedence.
