Three of Audi’s Le Mans-winning LMP cars will run on track at the Circuit de La Sarthe next month as part of the centenary celebrations at the 2023 edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours.
The 13-time Le Mans-winning German marque will run its 2000 Audi R8, 2007 R10 TDI and 2012 R18 e-tron quattro, with Dindo Capelli, Tom Kristensen and Benoît Tréluyer all set to drive.
The cars will turn laps at the fabled circuit twice during race week, along with a huge number of other winning cars from the event’s past.
In addition, Audi will supply a dozen cars to the special exhibition at the “Musée des 24 Heures du Mans” in the coming weeks, featuring around 80 winning cars.
An appearance in the “Village des Constructeurs” will round off the Ingolstadt-based company’s commitment to Le Mans in 2023. There, the brand will showcase the Audi R18 e-tron quattro from 2016 and the Audi S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron, developed for Ken Block. Autograph sessions with Audi driving legends are also planned.
Beyond the brand’s contribution to the Le Mans 24 Hours this year, Audi Tradition will also have a presence at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed in July with its sportscar machinery. Capello, Kristensen and Tréluyer will travel to the event and drive the aforementioned winning cars from 2000, 2007 and 2012.
