Ferrari’s Sport Prototipi Clienti Programme Growing

6 x 499 Modificata cars already delivered!

May saw two events in California featuring Ferrari’s super-exclusive Sport Prototipi Clienti, part of Ferrari’s extensive range of factory-supported Clienti Corse packages.

Sport Prototipi Clienti visited Sonoma from 12-13 May and Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca the following week, the event featuring no fewer than four of the new Ferrari 499P Modificata, a car derived from the overall winning Ferrari from 2023’s (and now 2024’s) 24 Hours of Le Mans for non-competitive events on the track.

The Modificata utilises much of the same tech as its racing Hypercar sisters but without the regulatory restrictions, in particular on the power from the hybrid drive.

The cars shared track space with the second leg of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli North America and the Ferrari Racing Days festivities at Laguna Seca with cars from F1 Clienti (for now privately owned ex factory F1 cars) and the XX Programme for non-competitive sessions featuring several iterations of Ferrari’s XX cars, super high performance, high tech versions of the Enzo, 599 and LaFerrari.

No fewer than six customer 499P Modificatas have thus far been delivered with additional cars understood to be set for delivery shortly. The final total, as always with Ferrari, is not a number for public discussion, but DSc understands that demand has comprehensively outstripped supply!

Whilst Ferrari are always tight-lipped about their top client’s identities, one internet rumour can be scotched immediately, the black coloured 499P Modificata seen in the picture top numbered #44 is NOT a car for 2025 Ferrari F1-bound Sir Lewis Hamilton, but rather is in the ownership of a long-time US-based Ferrari customer!

The second consecutive win for the 499P at Le Mans this year is unlikely to have dimmed the levels of enthusiasm and demand from amongst Ferrari’s most prized customers for the Modificata!

Senior sources at Ferrari are openly briefing that the WEC programme has been successful for the company both on and off track with major customer engagement providing a very pleasant surprise. A long-term commitment for the current 499P platform and beyond looks increasingly likely.
